Sonya

My obsession with the visual comes from my love of colour and form, atmosphere and identity. I see my design practise as a quest to understand and feel the power of the language of images, combining the intuitive with the theoretical. My main inspiration is folklore from various cultures, dadaism, fauvism and psychedelia. I love mundane subjects and finding humour/beauty in them; once filled an entire sketchbook with paintings of manhole covers, and right now I'm collecting random comments I hear in the street which I will eventually make into a zine.
